how do you think he'll do in this division,IMO he wont be able to hang with the big guns, ie.Wanderlei Silva,Shogun,Rampage, Brandon Vera (who has dropped to LHW aswell, i think he'll do well in this division)

  1. Silva's a joke.

  2. i think that silva will do very well. people act like silva is tiny and that moving up a weight class is something that is impossible to do. silva walks around at 220 or above. he will still cut some weight to make LHW. bj penn and sean sherk both had very successful careers in the welterweight division before the ufc brought back lightweights and they dropped down. also dan henderson was and is a belt holder in two different weight classes in pride. silva beat henderson who went all five rounds with the champ. silva uses a style that does not require him to be bigger or stronger than his opponents. he is not a ground and pound and dominate fighter like tito ortiz. silva is good because of his amazing striking and overall ability, not size and strength. he will still do very very good in the LHW division. will he do champion good? that we will just have to see.

  3. According to him he can't be knocked out. I think hes about to learn other wise but I wish him luck though

  4. Anderson will do great. There are a lot of great fighters in the UFC at 205, and it's MMA so you can't win forever against the best, but Anderson is by far the worlds best fighter and his move to 205 wont change that. People talk a lot of c**p about Anderson saying he'll get destroyed, but lets look at the facts. He's never been knocked out, he's never been cut, he's never even been seriously hurt by a shot. Fight metrics ran some numbers and they found out that Anderson Silva is twice as successful in connecting on his strikes compared to the average fighter. An even bigger shocker is that Anderson' only gets hit one-third as much as the average fighter by his opps strikes. Those are scary stats that a lot of people talking trash dont even know about. With those numbers it's hard to think he wont succeed.

  5. I think he will do pretty well, but I also think he might have some trouble with some of the top guys. I dont think Wandy, Shogun and Vera will give him trouble. I think Rampage or Griffin could be an issue for him because they are really big 205's and both have good ground skill and good chins. That being said I dont think they will have him go for the title in at least a year, or as long as Rampage or Griffin is the champ. There is to many entertaining super fights out there, Liddell, Wandy, Vera, Shogun, h**l even Machida might be fun to watch against Silva. Liddell and Wandy especially would be HUGE headlining money making fights and you know either one of them would jump at the chance to fight Silva.

I think it goes like this, Silva beats Irvin (hopefully) then his next two fights are a title defense at 185 and fight with Liddell or Wandy at 205. After that i dont really know, if he destroys Irvin and dominates he next fight at 205 he will probably get a title shot. If he wins both 205 fights but doesnt destroy them he probably has another 185 defense and another non title fight at 205 with either Wandy or Liddell.

And this is all assuming he doesnt lose for the nest year and half, if he does who the h**l knows what will happen,

It would really suck if he losses to Irvin.
