Anderson Silva is willing to take on Michael Bisping – UFC News
Finally, it seems like Briton fighter Michael Bisping’s prayers have been answered. The middleweight contender has been campaigning to fight Silva for a long time and now he has just close to getting it. Bisping is scheduled to face The Phenom Vitor Belfort
next year. If he wins, he will get a title shot at Silva.
“If Bisping beats Vitor Belfort, he will be the next in line. Bisping wants to fight Anderson and Anderson wants Bisping,” confirmed President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship Dana White in an interview with Tatame.com.
On the other hand, Bisping does admit the fact that Belfort is the toughest opponent of his career. He knows defeating The Phenom is not an easy task but he is up for it.
“I honestly believe I would deserve it, in my mind Vitor Belfort is the hardest fight in the middleweight division outside of Anderson Silva. My last fight was against Brian Stann, before that it was a controversial loss against Chael Sonnen, before that
I hadn't lost a fight since 2009. So if I beat Vitor I definitely deserve a shot, I'm definitely the number one contender,” said Bisping in his last interview.
For the Briton, fighting Anderson Silva is his dream. He has been campaigning for a while to fight against the champion for quite some time. Now, it seems like Bisping is just one fight away to make his dreams come true.
It should be noted here that Bisping is one of the most controversial UFC fighters of all times. He has been more notorious than famous yet he has proven himself in the cage against the best. His last fight was against contender Brian Stann, and many were
believing Bisping would lose.
As promised, Bisping proved his mettle against Stann by grabbing a dominating win. For now, Bisping stands as the number one contender yet he has to defeat Belfort to get to Silva. If he is unable to do so, White has not confirmed if Belfort will be the
one facing Silva.
By hook or crook, Bisping is all in to face the champion.
