Anderson Silva v James Irvin - who wins?

Its official, Silva is moving up to LHW to take on James Irvin on July 19th. Who do you think will win and why?

I have to give Anderson this one. I don't think he will destroy Irvin... I think he will give him a good fight but I don't see it going into the third round; not with these two explosive fighters. Plus, you have to think about it... now another match is more than likely going to be made, hopefully this year, GSP vs. BJ Penn. If Silva is moving up the GSP fight will more than likely never happen... which I would love to see, but a GSP vs Penn match-up is a good runner up.

anderson silva wins. i was very impressed by james irvin 8 second knockout on alexander but i fink that anderson sill is the p4p king at the moment. i fink a better question would be james irvin vs chuck because they have pretty similar stiles.

Silva.  Smart move by Zuffa to put the card on the same day as Affliction: Banned.  I'll be switching back and forth to see what's happening between the two events.  Or maybe I'll tape the UFC event and watch Affliction live.

Silva will destroy Irvin almost as fast as Irvin beat Alexander, if not faster.

Silva wins - Silva is used to fighting bigger, stronger guys (Rich Franklin) and great wrestlers (Dan Henderson).  He's crafty standing up, and has very accurate strikes with KO power, especially when he throws the furious combos he's so good at.  And look at who Silva has fought and beaten - Henderson, Franklin, Carlos Newton, Ryo Chonan (which was beautiful)...the list goes on.

*Edit -He did lose the Chonan fight - guess I didn't type it clearly- the crazy kick Chonan did was beautiful.  Point was that Irvin hasn't fought the caliber of fighters that Silva has.

Who has Irvin fought?  His toughest fight was probably Thiago Silva...say what you want, but he lost.

Im gonna say Silva will win by KO or TKO in the 1st rd. But that would be so sick if Irvin pulled through with one of his flash knockouts. Irvin is one of my favorite fighters
