GSP? Lets look at it from both sides...

Who would the fight favor if Anderson Silva steps down to 170 lbs. to fight GSP?

Who would the fight favor if GSP stepped up to 185 lbs. to fight Anderson Silva?

Who's the better of the two as of right now?

Silva walks around at about 200-220 he already cuts alot to fight in middleweight.  IF... GSP moved up I believe he would get destroyed.  The only threat to anderson silva would be from a light-heavyweight with heavy hands and a solid ground game.  They had better bring a chin too cause their going to need it.  Any of the top five light heavyweights have a chance of beating him except Forrest Griffin who completely lacks knockout power and couldn't handle the knockout power that silva will inevitably bring.

I would like to see GSP and Silva fight at an even 177.5 pounds.  I don't believe that either of them walk around at their fighting weight.  I think that it would be a great fight.

This is one of my dream fights....  They are both on a level that no one else in mixed martial arts can touch.  Both are definitely phenomenal fighters, with phenomenal cardio and heart.

First off, either one of them could win on any given day, but if I owned a sports betting business I would look a it like this...

Striking... Got to give it to Silva by a long shot, he is the best striker ever, he has laser guided hands and feet.  Also, I think his chin is better, look at the Serra/ GSP fight, he got his bell rang, and I've seen Silva recover a lot better.  By the way I strongly dislike Matt Serra.

BJJ... Again to Silva, his BJJ is great.  Or maybe it is just easy to submit people when they are almost knocked out from a crazy head kick.

Wrestling and take downs...  Definately GSP... He cold take down Silva on command, but may be in trouble when he got there.

So I have to go with Silva.  But I have tons of respect for both fighters.  They have more talent, and train harder than everyone else outthere.

I can see 3 possible outcomes... all of them end the fight in 1 round.

#1   Silva (TKO) from Muay Thai clinch knee strikes.

#2   GSP (TKO) Ground and pound

#3   Silva  (SUBMISSION)  Triangle choke, during GSP's ground and pound.

In my dream world I also wish for... Fedor vs. Couture and Faber vs. Penn.

silva would not be able to go to welterweight unless he worked really hard because he cuts quite a bit to get to middle weight but whether or not he goes down or gsp goes up i give it to silva

silva has a better stand up and gsp will regret taking him down
