  1. Anyone who says Anderson Silva is a TUF gnub, worthless in nature, and a cancer to the sport.

The fanboys come out in droves.

There is MMA besides what is shown on SpikeTV™, you know. *rolleyes*

  2. Depends what weight class - if both were at Light Heavyweight 205lbs - I would say that Anderson Silva would win - at Heavyweight it would be all depend if Silva gained that weight with muscle?

  3. Lets be more realistic with the match-up being in the LHW Division. If Silva could keep the fight standing he could out strike Fedor because he is so precise and fast with his punches. If it went to the ground Fedor would more than likely put him in an armbar within two minutes. If you wanted to argue for the sake of arguments that this had to be in the HW division; then without a doubt Fedor would win either by standing or ground. Silva is so dangerous because he is quick and elusive... at HW the extra pounds would slow him way down.

  4. if they were to fight st lightheavy i would say silva but at heavyweight it would probablt be fedor just because of the weight.

but silva is a better fight..#1 PFP

  5. I think you're a bit confused. Anderson moved up and fought at 205lb, aka light heavyweight. Fedor is a heavyweight (greater than 205) fighter. Anderson plans to fight at 185 and 205 going forward. no heavyweight fights for him. Fedor is with Affliction who will hold onto him. If they go bust then maybe Fedor will wind up in the UFC. If he does, he'll fight Brock Lesnar and Cheick Kongo types. A spider vs. fedor fight is not ever going to happen in any promotion at any time in the future.

Having said that, in a fantasy world where they face each other, I'd pick Spider because he's so good at evading strikes. In his UFC run he's not allowed a flush punch to hit him. So he'd frustrate Fedor.

  6. This is a bad matchup for Silva, Fedor is excellent at takedowns and a relentless ground and pounder and with takedowns being Silvas weakness he is in big, big trouble hear cause if it goes to the ground what is Silva going to do sub Fedor, its not going to happen Big Nog which is Silva BJJ trainer could even come close so Silvas in for a beating.  Fedor will win because he is more rounded and is a much smarter fighter and the fact that Fedor is the perfect formula of a fighter to beat Silva in the first place.  Styles make fights and this is a bad match for Silva.

Fedor has fought much more evasive fighters then Silva and someone fustrating Fedor is actually laughable.

  7. nobody can beat Fedor, NOBODY!!!!

  8. Dude is this weird or what, I was thinking about this fight myself, I mean they are the two best fighters in the world, Uhhh, I think Fedor would when just cuz andersons strikes wouldnt work on Fedor like they would on Franklin, or Irvin, so I think Fedore.

  9. I second the first poster.

  10. fedor cuz

    a.  thats too much of a weight change for silva and

    b. fedor is just better

EDIT: i dont get why people say fedor would have trouble in stand up with silva.  fedor out fought cro cop in stand up.  yea cro cop kinda fell off now but back then he was THE BEST striker in the game.  and for fedor to out strike the best striker i dont think that he'll have trouble with anderson.

if fedor can take a kick to the head from cro cop and just shake it off like nothing, he'll take anything silva has to offer

  11. The way to beat Silva is take him down and control him on the mat. Dan Henderson did it for the first round before getting caught with a knee in the clinch. That would be the best game plan and Fedor would have no problem keeping it on the ground and avoiding submissions.

I would guess Fedor by armbar in the second or a decision win.

  12. Why should Anderson jump up two weight classes? Why couldnt they meet at 205 LHW? Have them fight at 205 and then we can see who the P4P best fighter in the world is. I'd put money on Silva at 205 in a cage with UFC NSAC rules. Anderson would dominate the stand up with precision striking, and Fedors face would be bleeding more than ever with elbows from the ground hes not used to taking.

Silva moved up and fought at LHW for ONE FIGHT because the UFC asked him to on short notice to counter the Affliction event. Silva said he doesnt plan on fighting anymore at LHW,his preferred fighting weight is 185.  He is currently the UFCMW title holder at the time of the question.

sfgfd- "Fedor is just better" thats brilliant , you make an excellent argument. Thats some serious lazy nuthuggery

  13. In a fantasy match up I would go with Fedor, too explosive and his gameplans are usually second to none.  The guy hasn't so much as lost a round in his last 28 fights.

Why in the world would Fedor ever consider cutting weight??  What does he have to prove to anyone at lower weight classes, all of his fights have been at HW and he is never dehydrated, never has to starve himself and uses his explosiveness and speed and technique to overcome any size or strength issues.  Anderson walks around at near 220 pounds (that was what he said before the 205 fight with Irvin) and Fedor weighs 230, thats close enough.  You guys are right though, if you force an undefeated fighter to change up his routine that has been perfect to date and have him drop 25 pounds then maybe Anderson would have a shot at beating a tired Fedor.  If Anderson is the best pound for pound I am sure 10 to 15 pounds won't make a difference, I mean 30 pounds and nearly a 8 inch reach advantage didn't deter Fedor from fighting Tim and winning in 36 secs.

  14. Fedor might have had a chance 6 years ago. Silva would pick him apart, just like he will anyone else the UFC puts in front of him. I still wouldn't want to get kicked by Fedor.
