  1. Anderson Silva I'd say :)***

  2. Considering that Ive never seen Silva get KO'd, dazed, cut, or even hurt by a strike I'm going with him, I know Irvin KO'd Alexander and had a couple  KO wins but none of them were against guys with great chins, and none of those guys were anywhere near Silva's level.

I think there is a VERY slight chance Irvin wins by KO, theres no way he wins on points.

    So I'll take Silva.

  3. James Irvin might have a shot because of Anderson Silva's inexperience in light heavyweight but I highly doubt he will beat Silva.  Silva has amazing striking and is extremely quick.  Silva will probably punch in circles around him but I'm anxious to see Silva make his light heavyweight debut!

  4. Spider I believe has this in the bag, it won't be a run through like people think but I think he will win and the extra weight won't effect him any because he Silva naturally walks around at 210-215 on average so he won't have to cut as much so he will actually have better stamina in the fight.  I just can't see a place where Irvin is better except for maybe strenght but Silva has better standup and ground game and devastating knees(ask Franklins nose).  Silvas on fire right know and ever improving and is probably the most humble guy in the sport.

Here is an interview from him just recently he is a class act:

Sherdog.com: Anderson, you have been considered the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. You have dominated all of your opponents and you are one of the greatest stars in the sport nowadays. How do you see the great stage of your career and how do you deal with all of these things?

Silva: Look, I deal with all of these very easily. I?m doing my job. I do my fights, come back home and train, see my mistakes and successes. I?m trying to improve each day, searching for something that is almost impossible: perfection. It?s impossible, but we have to keep on trying and while I continue fighting, I?ll keep my mind on this objective. I don?t think I am the best of the pound-for-pound like Dana White said. I don?t think I am the best in my division. I will only be able to say that to you when I quit fighting. Then I will be able to say that I was good at that, that in my time I was in my best form, in my weight and in my division. It?s just that nowadays, I?m not. I still have many things to do. I still have to fight a lot, and of course defeats will come, too, but many victories as well. I have my feet on the ground in relation to this kind of thought. I know I?m not unbeatable, but I?ve been training hard. [Eventually] someone better than me will appear, for sure, and will win. The overcoming, the getting over, the devotion -- this is what matters.

also lets not forget that Silva has never been knocked out ever the mans chin is granite, I don't even think he has even been wobbled before.  Irvin is not the hardest puncher he has ever faced either Leben, and Franklin hit very hard.

In the Lutter fight Silva defended very well when Lutter got full mount on him and why would it be bad to be taken down by Lutter the mans whole game revolved around the ground game and submissions so I garantee that his takedowns are superb and even after Lutter got him down he COULDN'T finish Silva even though Lutter has one of the best ground games in the world, Silva managed to sucker him into trying to take an "easy" armbar and he got the better position from that and won the fight just like how Rich beat Lutter.

    War Silva

  5. well lets put it this way, I bet Rich Franklin trained twice as hard as Irvin and got beat bad both times so i really would like to see Irvin but i will have to say Anderson will win!

  6. James Irvin via flash knockout at 0:10 in the first round.

  7. The Spyder will put the Sandman to sleep in the 1st round.  Pound for pound nobody can touch Silva.  He is the best MMA fighter I have ever seen.

  8. Spyder...

hes too hungry, and its just his time...

  9. I am gonna say Anderson Silva to win. I do think James Irvin has a chance, everybody has a punchers chance. Look what happened with Serra vs GSP. You can never count anybody out, that is why they fight.

  10. Irvin!

    2nd rnd stoppage!

  11. silva win by ko

  12. i think anderson is the underdog. james has got unbridled power and silva is going to be the small guy in this fight.

with more weight on silva, i think he's going to be slower and with less leverage in the clinch. also his cardio might not be as good.

  13. ok does no one seem to remember that travis lutter...TRAVIS LUTER, took down silva with a HORRIBLE low leg take down and was on top throwing some punches that WERE connecting, now imagine if irvin managed to get into a similar position as lutter was, he is MUCH stronger then lutter and has knockout power. don't get me wrong i agree silva IS the best p4p fighter you will probablly ever see, but that doesn't mean d**k when you bump up weight classes and fight ppl that much bigger/stonger then you

i mean a 120 pound guy could be the BEST p4p fighter but let him fight rampage...he will lose, so just b/c hes the best p4p fighter doesn't make him invinsible...anyways i'm all for irvin ground and pound 2nd round...the sandman needs a title shot

  14. It will be worse than the beating he gave Rich Franklin at UFC 64 & UFC 77

I think i saw some kind of commercial when i was watching the preview of that fight and some1 said that Anderson Silva is the best fighter in the world

  15. THis is a good fight -- irvin could clip silva with his power but i dont think he will knock him out.  but him on his back the announcers will be like oh man anderson silva is getting beat and then WHAM he will submit him then in his victory celebration he will catch osama bin laden.
