Anderson Silva will challenge Georges St-Pierre at UFC 154 – UFC News
Middleweight champion and unbeaten fighter of the Ultimate Fighting Championship Anderson Silva will challenge welterweight titlist Georges St-Pierre at UFC 154, which takes place on November 17 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
The fight between Carlos Condit and Georges St-Pierre will be a title unification bout, with GSP having his welterweight title on the line while Condit will have his interim title on the go. Surprisingly, it has been confirmed that middleweight champion
Anderson Silva will be present in the audience to watch ‘The Rush’ take on Condit. Chances are that GSP would defeat Condit and Silva would challenge him to a match, and all of this will happen inside the cage.
Silva has previously spoken of fighting GSP, labelling him as the only fighter worth giving a shot. On the other hand, GSP is not too sure if he will fight Silva anytime soon. According to ‘The Rush’, he is mainly focusing on defeating Condit for now, paying
no heed to a super-fight against Silva.
Not just Silva, even president of the UFC Dana White is eager to put both the legends in a cage to see who emerges victorious.
“There's no doubt Anderson Silva (is) showing up to cheer Georges St-Pierre on, and he wants him to win this fight. He wants to fight him after. So I would say yes (he will challenge him in the cage),” said White, who cannot hold his horses to see the first
ever super fight of UFC happening.
Silva recently defeated American Psycho Stephan Bonnar via first round knockout in Brazil. Although he is the middleweight champion, he rules the entire UFC and the world of MMA with his skills and his unbeaten streak. No other fighter in the world of MMA
is good enough to beat Silva, at least none has faced him yet.
According to the ‘Spider’, GSP is the only fighter in the entire UFC right now who can put up a tough fight against him, let alone being beaten. While young fighters like Chris Weidman and Michael Bisping want Silva to get them a chance, the ‘Spider’ has
his eyes on GSP.
