Anderson and Swann are in the league of McGrath and Warne, claims David Saker – Cricket News Update
England's bowling coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shane-Keith-Warne-c89672.
The legendary Australian bowlers, McGrath (right-arm pacer) and Warne (leg-spinner) took their team to the number one status in International Cricket Council’s Test rankings during the late 90s.
Anderson and Swann have done their part for England too. The duo inspired the Poms to the summit of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 Test rankings in 2011; however, only time will tell whether they will truly replicate the same feats as their Australian counterparts.
Saker sees shades of McGrath and Warne when Anderson and Swann are bowling in tandem. The Australian born coach said, “When Jimmy and Swann bowl together it is not unlike McGrath and Warnie at times. McGrath and Warne in tandem
were amazing but I have seen some spells from Jimmy and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ernest-William-Swanton-c56374 that have been just as good or better at times.”
“In http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 there were a couple of times, late on day four in the second Test, when those two reminded me so much of McGrath and Warne,” Saker continued.
The Aussies were seemingly invincible when Warne and McGrath were part of their bowling roster. The duo, however, received great support from the likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jason-Neil-Gillespie-c66461, as they maintained the pressure created by
Warne and McGrath.
Saker believes that England’s current bowling attack is as good as the Australian’s of the late 90s and early 2000s.
The bowling coach said, “The Australians were stand-out bowlers, a great group for a long time and they also had a world-class spinner. This group is very skilful too. What they do really well is assess conditions quickly.”
Swann and Anderson are currently part of England’s Test team, which is up against the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 has an un-assailable lead of two games to nil in the three match Test series. The third and final Test of the series
will be played at Edgbaston, Birmingham.
Anderson may be rested for the game, as the English selectors want to keep him fresh for the rest of the tour.
