silva is a tad over rated

imo akiyama could beat him, heck i reckon even filho would give him a run for his money (although those two are friends and said that they will never fight)

I've been saying this ever since A. Silva dissed Henderson (didn't want to risk a rematch probably) after their bout. Akiyama's style would give him plenty of trouble. Style-wise, the spider matches up far better against Franklin, hence their rematch. I think UFC has been protecting their middleweight champ. To be able to say he's the best, he should be taking on the best (as GSP and BJ Penn have a habit of doing) not ducking real tests in favor of sticking to newcomers, one-dimensional fighters, and guys whose styles just obviously stack up badly against his. And if fans want to actually see him in a good fight instead of celebrate another performance of his signature clowning, they've got to stop hugging his nuts and start asking questions so he'll someday have reason at least to ask for some of the worthy challengers available.
