Anderson silva(over reaction)?

yes he is a good fighter but only time will tell if he is one of the best.

apart from dan henderson who has he ever beaten?

franklin was an o.k fighter against weak fighters he was never what you would call top notch.

james irvin is just a under card fighter and should never have fought silva.

so until silva fights some one like liddel, wandy or griffin(guys who have beaten the best) can people really call him the best p4p fighter?

griffin has beaten two top ten p4p fighters in rampage and shogun so why is all the hype with anderson silva?

  1. Silva is just unbeatable right now.  And its not just who he has beat, its how he beats them.  He is an amazing martial artist and can KO with the best of them.

I agree, we shouldnt be calling him the best ever right now, but wait, I bet his next fight will be against someone like wandy or griffin.  I would say he might have a title fight soon, but changing weight classes and such, I dont see that happening right away.

  2. Of all the fighters you've mentioned, I'd like to see Liddell and Silva the most.  Chuck is almost 40 and has still never ever been submitted.  Silva is a master at submissions.  Even though he won his last fight on his feet - I was way more impressed when he tapped out Dan Henderson.

  3. Franklin is only OK?!? Franklin is still the second best middleweight in the UFC. His only losses are to Anderson Silva and Lyoto Machida, both pretty fantastic fighters.

It's also not all about who Silva beat, but how he's beat them. He's rarely been in trouble in any of his recent fights and always seems to win taking very little or no damage. He KO's people who dont get KO'd (Leben) submits people who dont get submitted (Lutter) out wrestles the best wrestlers (Henderson and Marquardt), out strikes the strikers (Irvin)  and completely destroys the all-around guys (Franklin twice).

Anderson Silva hasnt just won, he's walked through the best middle-weights in the UFC. If you're not impressed by the way he has decimated the best guys the UFC can give him then you need to find a new sport because MMA clearly isnt for you.

EDIT: To the guy who said Machida could beat Silva... maybe, but it's unlikely they'd ever fight. They are good friends and train together; Silva has specifically commented (through his manager Ed Soares) that he Machida is making his way towards the belt and he (Silva) isnt looking to try and steal from his plate. Silva isn't interested in the light-heavyweight belt with his freindship with Machida being the main reason. Silva is more interested in stepping up to 205 for huge event type of fights (like a match with Liddell), not to try and get in the way of his good friend Lyoto.

  4. those people you mentioned are not even in his weight class, dont forget he is only moving up because there is no one left in his class. name another fighter that is going up in weight bc he destroyed everyone else. i'm a big liddel fan but the way he hold his hands would not fly with silva, he is way to precise.

  5. watch anderson fight...you will see. he didnt just beat his opponents...he destroyed them...all!

he's never been past the second round because noone can last with him (yet)....some really good guys...champs...rich franklin, and henderson for starters. more than just "ok" fighters.

though i do think alot of people underestimate griffin, myself included...i didnt think he'd last past the 1st round with rampage...but he effectively whooped rampage's ***.

  6. I think you might be new to MMA mate, have you scene any of Shoguns Pride fights? Then you will know that the Shogun we saw against Forrest was not the same! Anyway Silva has faught some of the best and has completely cleaned out a division with no fights going past the 2nd round! Infact he moved up a weight division to get some descent competition. So no Anderson Silva is not an "over reaction"!

To the asker: Yes that was typical Dan Henderson from Pride we saw against Silva, did you ever watch Pride mate? Dan was beating Silva in the 1st round, the only reason he lost was because he decided to stand and trade with Silva which was a massive mistake!

  7. I hope you really aren't from Britain mate, 'cos you're embarrassing our nation with a comment like that. Don't give me this "time will tell" c**p. Silva is the man, a true MMA exponent.

Did you really say Griffin? ROFL! Forrest knows he's out of his depth against Silva. As light heavyweight champ, it's his responsibility to call out Silva. Why do you think he hasn't?

  8. There is 4 guys in the light heavyweight devision who i think would beat silva and if he beats them then there is no doubht he is the best in the world and the best ever! However im not so sure he would beat these other fighters as easy as the others and i think one of them will be his downfall.I like anderson silva he's an awesome fighter but like any great fighter there is always ONE who they cant beat.

Lyoto machida i would put all of my life savings on this fight for machida to win.Why because he is almost impossible to hit and i think he would frustrate silva like he has with every other fighter. He has also beat franklin and bj penn in another orginization years ago,he's beaten allot of good fighters and i think he is the future champ without doubht.Just look at his face there isnt a scratch on it lol

This is my dream match up and its possible to happen

    anderson silva vs lyoto machida

Anyways i think gsp is the best in the world some people think fedor some people anderson i dont care really i just love mma
