I want to go for a ski holiday, but can't decide between all the offers there is. France, Bulgaria, Austria...

I'm half italian, so I have been in the alps many times, and wanted to know how Andorra is compared to these.

I heard many negative things about it...how come?

Thanks

  1. Well I've only been ski-ing twice.  First time was to Livigno in Italy and last year I went to Andorra.  Unfortunately there was no snow there and there was little else to do to occupy us.  Also, the mountains only had burger bars, not the nice restaurants like there were in Italy.  So I wouldnt go back to Andorra.  We're going to Austria this year but I would definitely recommend Livigno.

  2. I was in Arinsal in Andorra a few years ago, we went for 2 weeks which was a bit of a mistake, as it was a small resort, but we boarded everyday and the conditions were great, even down to t-shirts in the sun on the last few days. The resorts are small, but food and atmosphere is great, but don`t go to same place for 2 weeks!

  3. Try the 3 valleys in france, this is resort has something for everyone.I have also been to andorra,i have skied most of the slopes there and to be honest the 1 resort i`d stay away from is pas de casa, its crowded and the lift ques can be quite long and the runs gets tracked out very early. The nightlife is pas de casa is surperb but i did not just go for that i wanted a good all round package. In the end i`m went to soldeu,i was very pleased with this resort,Andorra was my second time away previous to that i went to austria,i liked this resort but to be honest it was abit to advanced for me.

I am off to borovets  (bulgaria) in jan,i am taking my wife and stepdaughter, this resort is cheap and its ment to be a good starting out point to learn to board/ski.

what about finland? went there in 2005 its a good place to go with snowsure conditions, the only downside is the cold and the lack of light. We had -32 all wk and the sun hardly shines but they have floodlit skiing/boarding.

    whatever resort you choose,enjoy
