The France international is hoping for an injury free 2012/2013 season and has vowed to prove his worth after enduring a frustrating year suffering from injury and poor form at Stade Velodrome
The 26-year-old has so far failed to live up to the expectations following his 18 million Euros move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Toulouse-FC-c40751 in 2010.
Howeve,r the former Toulouse player has vowed to put his injuries and bad run of form behind him as he seeks to regain the form that saw him become one of the best strikers in France.
Gignac, who was Ligue 1 top scorer in 2008/2009 season, has admitted that the past couple of years were hard on him and he needs to start all over again. The Frenchman has stated that he needs to do a lot of work in order to prove himself at the club.
The striker, who is currently at OM's training camp in Crans Montana, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Switzerland-c3016, has claimed that the cursed run of injuries are past him and to call him injury-prone would be wrong.
"These last two seasons have been really tough for me with injuries and poor performances," the Marseille man told reporters.
The Frenchman is looking forward to the next season and is eager to justify his 18 million Euros price tag.
"I'm aiming to be consistent over an entire season. I know that I have a lot to prove and to make up to the club and the fans. OM made a huge effort to sign me, and now it's up to me to prove myself and repay their investment."
It will take the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international some time to recapture the form that made him one of the most feared strikers in the Ligue 1. Gignac believes that this is his last time at Marseille to show what he is capable of and is keen to prove his doubters wrong.
"I'm full of desire to succeed and to win. This year is my first full pre-season without injury. I know this is my last chance and I'm ready to give everything I've got and show my best qualities."
The France international only managed to make 10 Ligue 1 appearances for Marseille last season scoring just one goal in the process. That is something Gignac wants to change this time around and is hoping for a consistent run of games.
