Andray Blatche wants the Washington Wizards to make a run in the playoffs – NBA Update
The Washington Wizards are a team full of talented players and they should be making the playoffs next season, so believes Andray Blatche. The 6-foot-11 forward has been on a personal vendetta of improvement for the past couple
of seasons and now wants his team to make a step up as well.
Blatche celebrated his 25th birthday recently and has spoken in length about realizing his potential after squandering his earlier years through his non-serious attitude. The player has improved too; he recorded a career
best season despite injury troubles last time out when he averaged 16.8 points per game and 8.2 rebounds per game.
Blatche though once again had an early ended to the season because the Washington Wizards did not qualify for the NBA playoffs. The talented forward though wanted a taste of the post season and attended some games in the playoffs,
and one of the NBA Finals in Miami.
That left a big impression on Blatche who was impressed with the level of play, commitment and enthusiasm in the games and he has declared he wants to experience all that first hand with the Wizards.
“That’s the best basketball, if you ask me,” Blatche said. “The atmosphere is crazy. I’ve been to the playoffs before. I didn’t play as much, but I see how it is. That’s something that you want to be a part of. That’s one of my
main reasons of having this workout.”
Blatche has been rounding up his teammates to try and work out with them and build team spirit as well as chemistry. He seems serious about getting a winning mentality to the side and pointed to the amount of talent at Washington’s
disposal as the argument for them making the playoffs.
The Wizards have Blatche, an up and coming forward, John Wall, one of the most exciting youngsters around, JaVale McGee, a powerful centre, some other impressive players plus some promising rookies coming in. It is not hard to
see why Blatche is all excited.
“We have great pieces. We have a great point guard. We have a JaVale. He’s an up-and-coming centre who can block shots. We have great scorers between Nick and [Jordan] Crawford. We have all good pieces. Now I feel we have to have
a good summer and come together as a team. I look at us, like Oklahoma, they was in a situation like us.”
Oklahoma City Thunder this is year showed what a talented young roster can do with a barnstorming run in the playoffs that ended in the Western Conference Finals. If Washington can do half as good a job as that, Andray will have
every reason to be pleased.
