Andre Agassi and Peak Performance Coaching
In the World of tennis like any other profession, players need constant motivation to perform at the top. Sometimes it happens that once a player is off-track, it becomes really difficult to get back on track.
Once the players lose focus, the players according to one of the most professional motivational speaker, who calls himself a top performance coach, Anthony Robbins, the players lose focus and confidence in the play and hence returning back to old performance
is really difficult unless the mind physiology connection is established via proper conditioning.
Andrea Agassi was one of the players in the history of the tennis, who is considered in the tennis world as the best returner of the ball in history after he met Anthony Robbins for coaching.
After reaching World No. 1 in 1995 Agassi Andrea faced immense difficulties in getting back on track. The year was brilliant for the Andrea Agassi. He kept the number one position for a total of approximately one and a half months. In 1995 he played a total
of 73 matches and lost only 9 of them.
After this, the problems started kicking in his professional life and the score started dropping. In 1996, he was unable to reach a Grand Slam final, being defeated at the French Open by Chris Woodruff, and at Wimbledon by Doug Flach.
Similarly in 1997, his ranking dropped to World No. 141 from World No. 1 in 1995. When tennis players or any other sportsmen, for that matter, face difficulties like this in life, they start using everything at their disposal to get back to the top of the
game.
He started using drugs like methamphetamine, which later turned out to be because of the urging of a friend. Even after doing all this, he was not able to come back to the top.
This was the point in Andre’s career where the motivation, focus and the mind-physiology connection was needed the most. Andrea turned to Anthony Robbins for the coaching. Anthony Robbins is considered as one of the most successful motivational speakers
and top performance coaches in the World.
He does not call himself a motivational speaker rather he call himself the Peak Performance Strategist. He has also trained apart from Andre Agassi, Tiger Woods, Serena Williams, Greg Norman, and Gretzky.
Agassi hence started with the Anthony Robbins and was able to come back to the top of the tennis world again. The sports world thus considers him the only person in the World who has returned after a performance shock, which he faced in the years of late
1990’s.
He comments about Anthony Robbins as “The ultimate life coach, he knows what it takes to make people excel… and win.” The motivation was very helpful according to Anthony Robbins and Andre was back at the top again.
In the last years of the 90’s Andrea Agassi was able to reach World No. 6 from World No. 126 and won five titles in the same year. He also became the fifth player at the time to have won four Grand slam singles during his career after Rod Laver, Fred Perry,
Roy Emerson and Don Budge, who were later joined by Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
Every performance loss in the court needs some motivation and strategies, but the effectiveness of motivational and strategic coaching for the players and other professional players is still unknown.
Andre Agassi after coaching with Anthony Robbins spent a brilliant career in tennis history. This also seemed to have set a trend in sports and players are approaching peak performance coaches. Again the effectiveness of such coaching for top performance
is questionable. But it is quite certain that peak performance coaching has immense positive impacts on the life of a sportsman.
