Andre Ayew looking to stay at Olympique de Marseille for a long time - Ligue 1 news

Following an excellent showing for the Rhone giants last season, Marseille are desperate to hold on to the talented player. ahead of the UEFA Champions League encounter against Borussia Dortmund, Ayew has also said that he is willing to extend his stay at
the Stade Velodrome.
While talking to Le Parisien, the 21-year-old said, “When you are a big club, you aspire to become a great player. I’m starting to become one but it’s far from over. You must have shoulders wide enough to take responsibility.”

Ayew says that he is hoping to become the captain of Marseille one day and is looking to stay with the French giants for a long time. Though the youngster has been linked with a move away from the Stade Velodrome, Ayew might consider staying at a club where
he would always be highly thought of.
With Marseille still under a lot of financial burden, Ayew might not get his wish. A good offer for the youngster might arrive next summer but a lot can change before that. So far, Ayew has played six games for Didier Deschamps’ side in the Ligue 1 and has
scored one goal.
This season’s start has been woeful to say the least for Marseille but Ayew’s form would definitely be vital for Marseille in order to revive their fortunes in the league. Tonight, Les Phoceens will play German champions Borussia Dortmund and a win over
the Borussians would definitely go a long way in defining Marseille’s season.
