The Olympique de Marseille player is on track in his return from a shoulder surgery after spending a lengthy period on the sidelines
Following a surgical procedure in late April, the Ghana international is on the right course to return to full fitness.
The 22-year-old injured his shoulder at the Africa Cup of Nations in January while on international duty, but opted against having a surgery at that moment. However, constant pain in his left shoulder forced Ayew to undergo an operation on April 24.
Andre Ayew was expected to be out of action for more than three months. However, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ghana-c2905 international made a quick recovery and has made an appearance in Marseille's 2-0 friendly loss to Benfica on Saturday.
While talking to reporters after the match, the Marseille striker stated that he is well on track in his return from the painful injury he endured in January. Despite not playing for more than a month, Ayew played reasonably well. The 22-year-old said that
although his legs were tired a bit, he performed better than he thought he would.
"Personally, I had not played for a month and a half. My legs were tired at the end, but I will return to my best form gradually,” Ayew told reporters.
The Ghanaian is hoping for a quick return to form and is eagerly looking forward to the start of the next season. Ayew said that he doesn’t feel any more pain in his shoulder and that is something that pleases him.
“My shoulder is better and this is the most important thing," the Ghanaian added.
The 22-year-old was being courted by a number of top European sides before his injury and it was speculated that the Marseille man will leave Stade Velodrome this summer. However, Ayew has rubbished all such rumours and has vowed to stay with the club and
help them achieve the former glories again.
