The Rhone giants are supposedly ready to sell the striker when the transfer window reopens in January. However, the 22-year-old is unaware of the club’s intensions regarding that and is looking forward to discuss the matter with the officials.
Marseille president, Vincent Labrune, recently admitted that the club would consider selling their striker for a right price in order to balance the books. But Ayew is not ready to part ways with his beloved club and is pleased with life at Stade Velodrome.
While talking to reporters, the 22-year-old stated that he heard about Vincent Labrune’s remarks regarding cashing in on him, through the media and was unaware of that before.
"I was not aware of Labrune's words.”
The Ghanaian said that he is very attached to the club and has no desire to depart at this stage of his career. After recovering from a shoulder injury, Ayew has vowed to perform well in the 2012/2013 Ligue 1 campaign in order to help Les Phoceens achieve
their objectives this season.
“I am feeling very well at Marseille and has no desire to leave," Ayew told official Ligue 1 website.
When asked about his club’s intentions of selling him in January, the 22-year-old said that it’s too early to talk about that and he will discuss the matter with the club’s officials.
"If the club has decisions to make and want to sell me in January, we will have to get together and discuss the matter.”
Ayew added that despite all the uncertainty regarding his future with the Rhone giants, he wants to stay at Stade Velodrome and moving away from the club is not in his interest.
"However, I once again repeat that I am happy here at Marseille. I'm on my way back to full fitness and I am completely focused on doing well with Marseille."
