Andre Berto: I have a lot of emotions built up from last year – Boxing News
American fighter Robert Guerrero is scheduled to take on Haitian-American fighter Andre Berto this Saturday at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California. Guerrero will defend his interim WBC welterweight title against Berto in a bout that will
be televised by HBO. Both fighters held a media workout at the Westside Boxing Gym in Los Angeles, giving a sneak peek of their preparations for the fight.
“Training has been great I’m ready, focused, not getting injured and taking care of myself. I have great people working with me,” said Berto to Fightnews.com.
Guerrero currently stands with 30 wins, 1 loss, 1 tie and 18 knockouts in his portfolio, while Berto stands with 28 wins, 1 loss and 22 knockouts in his portfolio. Experience wise, both fighters are more or less at the same level, with Berto being more of
a knockout fighter.
Berto is a former welterweight champion who has been training in Winter Haven, Florida to fight against Guerrero. Although Berto stands good chance to defeat Guerrero, he seemed anxious during the workout.
Since this will be Berto’s first fight in over a year, he is quite excited and at the same time a little nervous for the showdown.
“I have a lot of emotions built up from last year. I had a crazy year, a roller coaster year, last year. I’m just anxious to get back in there I’m looking forward to it,” added Berto.
On the other hand, Guerrero is quite confident, as always. He trains with his dad, asserting that his dad knows him in and out, giving him the opportunity to know his drawbacks instantly.
“Training with my dad is great he knows if I am slacking off. He is on my a*s all the time that is one of the reasons I like working with him. My father treats me like a man but when he gets mad I know I am slacking off,” said Guerrero.
Guerrero vs. Berto being dubbed as a dangerous encounter for both, as both fighters are offensive and explosive. ‘The Ghost’ Guerrero will defend himself against the ‘Ghost Buster’ Berto to see who is the better man in the ring.
