Andre Greipel takes back the Ochre Jersey on the third day of Santos Tour
Andre Greipel of Team Lotto Belisol is not willing to give anything away, considering his tremendous performance at the stage 3 of the Santos Tour Down Under.
Team FDJ-BigMat rider, Yauheni Hutarovich, occupied the second spot after another close finish, with Edvald Boasson Hagen of Team Sky securing the third spot.
Team Lotto was a man short after Jurgen Roelandts crashed during the first stage of the race.
Andre dedicated his victory to Jurgen, "This victory is for Jurgen Roelandts who unfortunately supports us from the hospital. We're nearly three riders down but the rest of the team that is not injured has been awesome today".
A much better performance for Hutarovich, as he briefed, "The first stage I was already third so that was a good sign and yesterday I took a journey and today had to recover and think about this stage, From the start I felt I had good legs so I gave it a
go and it was good to be second".
Boasson Hagen was unfortunate to face a puncture but recovered well, considering his third place finish at the 134.5 kilometre stage.
He is currently leading the stage 3 young rider classification and is placed third at the Sprints Overall Classifications with 24 points.
Greipel is also leading the Sprints Overall Classification with 30 points to his credit. Yauheni Hutarovich is three points behind at second spot.
The German sprinter was at the second position after the stage 2 classifications, with a deficit of two seconds behind Martin Kohler of Team BMC.
Kohler finished at the 68th position, which made Greipel the overall leader of the race.
Martin is now 8 seconds behind at second position with Michael Matthews, Thomas De Gendt and Simon Gerrans occupying the third, fourth and fifth spots, respectively.
Team UNI SA Australia is leading the Teams General Classifications after the third stage. Sky Procycling, RadioShack-Nissan, Omega Pharma-QuickStep and Team Lotto Belisol are holding the second, third, fourth and fifth spots.
Andre Greipel has now claimed the Down Under Classic and two stages of the Santos Tour Down Under.
He is in a perfect position to secure the overall win to wear the Ochre jersey on the final stage of the Santos Tour Down Under 2012.
