Andre Iguodala taking a cautious approach on his return

Philadelphia 76ers guard Andre Iguodala might suit up for his team against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday 10 November, but the 26-year-old guard is still taking a cautious approach
on his return to avoid any further injuries.

Iguodala, who sat out in their 106-96 win over the New York Knicks on Sunday 7 November, did not practise with the team on Monday 8 November, and he did not give any indication on when he
would participate in their on-court drills.

“The one thing we don't want to have a problem with is coming back too fast and overcompensating, with something else happening,” said Iguodala, who is averaging 13.2 points and 5.8 rebounds
in their first six games this season. “We're just being cautious and hoping it doesn't lead to something else.”

Philadelphia head coach Doug Collins, on the other hand, said that he is expecting Iguodala to play against the Thunder, barring any “dramatic setback”, but the high-flying guard declined
to confirm whether he’ll suit for his team or remain sidelined.

“I haven't practiced,” said Iguodala, when asked to comment on Collins’ assessment. “I talked about that with our trainer as well, not practicing and then just getting thrown back into the
flame too fast, coming from just walking around to all-out sprinting, NBA action. So we'll see how tomorrow looks.”

Iguodala has only missed seven games in his seven-year NBA career, and has played through injuries, like he did during the summer. The former Arizona standout played with a sprained right
wrist for the USA Basketball team in the world championship during the off-season, but he was one of the key factors in their gold-medal finish despite playing hurt.

Iguodala is still bothered by his sprained wrist, but he has no plans to rest only because of that injury. “It's really not going to heal at all,” he said. “So I'll just play through it this
year. But it'll be a good time to get some rest, doing some exercises and just strengthening everything around my Achilles so I don't overcompensate.”
