Indonesia’s Andre Kurniawan Tedjono advanced into the top-eight stage after showing exit to India’s Arvind Bhat in Men’s Singles round-of-16 at the Bitburger Open GP Gold 2012 at Saarbrucken, Germany, on Thursday, November 1.
Indonesian shuttler, who was positioned at number 11 in Men’s Singles draw of the tournament, showed a strong character on court and remained successful in grabbing an easy win over Bhat in 39 minutes.
Tedjono was in remarkable form as he played planned badminton without committing mistakes and remained successful in winning the contest in a dictating manner with a good margin.
The lower ranked Indian shuttler, on the other hand, could not put up strong show as he failed to dominate the pace of rallies when it mattered most and lost the battle in straight sets to his Indonesian opponent.
It was an interesting fight in the opening points of first game when Tedjono showed a wonderful display of his impressive skills on court and kept the crowd engaged.
The hard-to-learn impressive variations in Tedjono’s shots assisted him to maintain his superiority on court and he kept his rival confused in the opening stage.
Until the end of first half, the higher ranked Tedjono obtained a strong position on score board by taking a reasonable lead.
In the meanwhile, Bhat tried his best to put up strong resistance but remained unable to take charge of the pace and remained struggling to create a considerable impact in the arena.
However, Tedjono was very focused on court as he did not commit mistakes and won the first game with an inspiring margin of 21-16.
Bhat geared up his speed to play smart badminton but could not shake the balance of his higher ranked Indonesian rival in the first part of second set and remained under pressure.
Until the end of first part, the incredible Tedjono continued playing with tremendous control and remained ahead on score board without facing any trouble.
Tedjono stayed on track in the concluding half of second set and clinched the game with a sound 21-16 score on score board.
The in-form Tedjono stamped his mark over Bhat in straight games with a spectacular margin of 21-16 and 21-16.
