The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 striker is keen on doing well for the Ligue 1 side this season but an offer from the Turkish Super Lig side could change the Frenchman’s mind
“It’s been three years since I have not prepared (for a new season). For long I have not prepared like this and it feels good,” said Olympique de Marseille striker, Andre-Pierre Gignac following a training session a few weeks back.
Indeed, since his arrival at the Velodrome about two years ago, the former Toulouse man has never really participated in a preseason. Now, the player is ambitious and wants to do well for Les Phoceens in the upcoming season.
Arrived at the Rhone club with a lot of expectations, repeated injuries and below-par performances have not helped the player’s cause. For the past two seasons, Gignac has struggled at the Canebiere. However, the player is now ready to prove his worth to
the Ligue 1 giants.
Many people beleive that Gignac will be with the Rhone side by the end of the summer transfer window. However, Turkish media, Fanatik is not on the same wavelength. Reports in the Turkish news daily claim that Turkish Super Lig side, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Trabzonspor-c40759, are keen
on signing Gignac this summer.
Trabzonspor finished third in the Super Lig last season and manager Senol Gunes, wants to improve the club’s offensive sector. Furthermore, the departure of goal machine, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Burak-Yilmaz-c8206 has left a major void in the club’s striking department.
Yilmaz was sold to Turkish champions Galatasaray SK earlier in the transfer window and the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Turkey-c3026 manager is keen on signing a good striker before the transfer window closes. Reports claim that Gignac is one of the strikers whose profile is appreciated
by the Trabzon-based club.
The Turkish side is also keeping tabs on the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Obafemi-Martins-c28273 (Rubin Kazan) and Venezuelan international, Salomon Rondon who is currently playing for La Liga side Malaga.
However, it still remains to be seen if APG will be willing to make a switch to Turkish football. Although Trabzonspor are playing in the Europa League next season and have received 5 million euros for Yilmaz’s transfer, it remains unclear as to whether
the Black Sea Storm will be able to afford Gignac’s wage demands.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international earns over 300,000 euros per month. Furthermore, if Loic Remy leaves the Velodrome, Elie Baup will not sanction a move for Gignac.
