The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 striker has said that the presence of fellow countryman Loic Remy in the squad does not worry him as he will be looking to do well next season
After scoring an all important goal against Turkish side, Eskişehirspor in a 1-1 draw in the first leg of the Europa League qualifiers at the Atatürk Stadyumu, Andre-Pierre Gignac has confirmed that he will not be a forgotten man like he was in his last
two seasons at the Canebiere.
After finally being able to play in the club’s preseason, the former Toulouse striker could not help hide his satisfaction at being able to make a good start to the new season. While talking to La Provence, the striker admitted that although it’s great to
score a goal, he could have done even better if he had been more alert.
“Of course it’s great to score, but I could also have other good chances to do better. I was playing in the moment and it was a millisecond of a thought. Being an attacker is not easy but I did my http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684.”
Looking to become a perfectionist, Gignac is certainly giving an impression of a man on a mission and following him from the first day of the 2012/2013 Championnat would be an interesting prospect to say the least.
This season, Gignac will face competition from fellow countryman, Loic Remy. Both strikers arrived at the Velodrome at the same time but Remy is the one who has outshined his compatriot. Despite being prone to injury last season, the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130
striker managed to rack up goals and will be giving a lot of competition to Gignac for a place in the starting XI.
Under the guidance of Didier Deschamps, Gignac was usually deployed down the left side in order to make room in the axis for Remy. Gignac does not want to play in such a withdrawn position but says that even if he plays down the left, positions are never
fixed.
“If I’m on one side, there is another player in the axis, and conversely, the positions are not fixed, even if we start with a certain style.”
