The Marseille striker says that he does not want to leave the Velodrome as a failure and has revealed that he wants to become a coach after he hangs up his boots
France international, Andre-Pierre Gignac has had a woeful and terrible 2011/2012 Ligue 1 campaign. Signed from Toulouse back in 2010, the striker hasn’t really justified his hefty price tag. Reports claim that the striker could be sold by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127
as the Canebiere club seeks to cut down losses.
However, it appears that Gignac is not so keen on leaving the Velodrome anytime soon. Though he has had a strained relationship with Didier Deschamps all season long, the striker feels that he still has a lot to prove and while talking to Le Provence, Gignac
said that he will find a way to shut up his detractors.
“I feel like I have plenty to prove and I don’t want to go as a failure. I tell them (critics) that they are not always right, they have not suffered what I suffered with injuries and I’ll shut them up (one day).”
The former Toulouse man last played for France at the World Cup in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/South-Africa-c757. Since then, manager Laurent Blanc has never called the Martigues-born striker. Despite being ignored due to obvious reasons, Gignac says that for him, the dream of playing for
France is not over by any means and he will work hard to play for Les Bleus at the World Cup in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 in 2014.
“I have not finished my story with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 team.”
Finally, the striker spoke about his future after football. The striker says that after he retires from the game, he would want to finish his coaching qualifications as he cannot http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bare-c7300 staying away from the game for too long.
“I love football so I think that I’ll work on my coaching badges. I like contact with players and want to feel these emotions after my career ends.”
Certainly, Gignac is not done with football. However, it still remains to be seen whether Marseille would want to keep hold of a player who many fans say, has been a drain on the club’s resources.
