On the last day of the transfer window, Arsenal went on to make a flurry of signings, which included the capture of Brazilian international, Andre Santos. The Fenerbahce player was swooped up the Gunners, in hopes for the team to reinforce their defensive
line.
Following his arrival at his new club, Santos wasted no time in winning the fans over, as he admitted that his prime focus was to win big and go all the way.
When talking about making the switch to the Emirates, Santos is quoted to have said: “It is always a tricky business when you arrive at a new club.”
He then went on to admit that he was looking forward to winning over everyone who was associated with the clubs, especially the fans of the North London team.
"There are great expectations from the supporters and I hope that my way of working, of playing, will win the hearts and minds of the other players, the supporters and all those who work for Arsenal.”
The full back then went on to turn his attention to what he wanted to do for the team in the future and made it quite simple, as he stated he wanted to be a champion and he would do everything in his power to assure that he got to his goal with the Gunners.
“I arrive here with one aim - being a champion. I will wear Arsenal’s shirt and give my utmost to it. I will do everything for the club.”
The defender then went on to state that looking at how successful Brazilians had been with the Gunners, it was easier for him to make up his mind and make a move to North London.
The player is reported to have cost the team a fee worth around six and a half million pounds and is going to be wearing the number 11 jersey at the club.
Following the departures of Gael Clichy and Armand Traore, the Gunners really needed some reinforcements at the back. This is because Gibbs, if anything doesn’t have a very good injury record and tends to be injured more often than he is fit.
