The Bayer Leverkusen midfielder has insisted that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 have all what it takes to become European champions this time around.
Die Mannschaft have progressed to the semi-final of the European championships with a 4-2 win over Greece at the last-eight stage. The team will now take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 at the National Stadium in Warsaw on Thursday, June 28, in a bid
to make their way to their second consecutive Euro final.
Schurrle admitted that it will be a crunch game in which both sides will have to work really hard to get a positive result. He insisted that Italy is a totally different team from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Greece-c2908 and Germany will have to be on their toes
to win the game.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FSV-Mainz-05-c38166 striker added that the Azzurri have been the surprise package in this competition and admitted that there were very few people who expected Cesare Prandelli’s side to qualify for the semi-final. He stated that
the team has been brilliant throughout the course of the tournament and feels that they will not go down without a fight.
The player, who started that game against Greece in place of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lukas-Podolski-c22896, warned his side against any complacency as he is confident that the Italians are capable of beating any team in Europe. He stressed that Prandelli’s team
have defied all odds to reach the last-four and are now prime contenders to win the title.
“In this game the little details and moments will be decisive. I see the Italians as very strong, defensively and offensively they have strong players. So far this tournament they [Italy] have surprised me since I didn’t consider
them amongst the top contenders. But I am convinced that we will leave the pitch as winners if we give 100 percent,” the 21-year old was quoted as saying in an interview.
Andre Schurrle put in a great display against Greece in the quarter-final but there is little chance that the player will start the game against the Azzurri as Lukas Podolski has been impressive throughout the competition. However,
he will play an important role when he comes on later in the second-half.
