Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has admitted that his side is negotiating a deal for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Soldado. The tactician confirmed the interest and hinted that the deal could be done before the season starts.
Spurs have been in need of a striker for the past two seasons as they currently have http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jermain-Defoe-c18359 in their ranks who have not been very consistent. A majority of the goals for the club were scored by Gareth Bale, which should be a worry for the side. They have been linked to a host of players in Europe including the likes of Eden Dzeko.
Villas-Boas revealed that Soldado is a player his side is interested in and there is no need to hide that. The manager believes that Tottenham are in need of a striker and the side is working hard to find a quality player in that position. The boss wants to add more depth to the squad and is confident that his side can repeat the success of last season.
“At the moment, he's just one of the players we are interested in. It's not a lie to anybody that we've been looking for a striker to strengthen our squad and to have more strength in depth,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 striker is a great player and his quality speaks for himself. Having said that, he admitted that nothing has been agreed yet and that there have only been conversations between the two clubs.
“Roberto is one of the players we have been following and his career speaks for itself. He's a great striker. But there isn't a deal being struck at the moment, it's just interest and conversations,” he concluded.
Roberto Soldado had a brilliant season with Valencia CF last season and if he does come to Spurs, he will have a great opportunity to play in the English Premier League next season. He will also have a chance to prove himself in the UEFA Europa League next season as Spurs have qualified for the competition after finishing fifth on the standings table.
