Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas revealed he was determined to give Slobodan Rajkovic, the 22-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Serbia-c3002 international, a chance at Stamford Bridge in the upcoming season. However, the Portuguese manager will have to wait and see whether or not Rajkovic is granted a work permit in time for the new campaign which starts on August 13.

During that time he went on to make 37 appearances in the Super Liga and even found the back of the net once.

He featured for the Blues for the first time in a friendly against Wycombe Wanderers earlier in July and managed to impress the Portuguese manager by his performance and a goal in the second half.
Due to his missing work permit Rajkovic is not permitted to play matches open to the public, which is why he was not able to feature for Chelsea against Portsmouth. Villas-Boas revealed he was hoping the 22-year-old defender was granted the work permit soon so he could feature for the Blues in the new season.
He revealed he was extremely impressed by his performance in the match against Wycombe Wanderers and was certain he could expect the same from Rajkovic in other matches. Villas-Boas said on the official website:
“I think that Rajko deserves a chance with a hearing panel.
We weren’t able to use him against Portsmouth but again you saw the level that he is at this moment and it is a question we have to address carefully because also at this moment we all know the choices that we have to take in the central defender role because we have five positions and four of them are top central defenders.”
He continued:
“The most important thing for Rajko and his future is for him to get this panel hearing because I think his talent is good enough for the Premier League.”
The Blues will have to patiently await the decision regarding Rajkovic’s work permit, which they are expecting soon. Both players are being closely monitored by Chelsea as they wait for the verdict on Rajkovic.
