Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has urged the management at the club to show him support publicly, which would prove he was at Stamford Bridge for the long haul.
Since Chelsea’s poor form in the English Premier League and their exit from the Carling Cup, there have been reports claiming that Andre Villas-Boas is headed towards a Stamford Bridge exit. The media has reported on various occasions the desire of owner
Roman Abramovich to look for a replacement.
However, Villas-Boas claimed that was not at all the case and that he had Abramovich’s backing a 100% going into the clash against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 for the fixture and anything less than a draw will cast
shadows of doubt over their qualification to the next round.
It was initially believed that the failure to qualify to the quarter finals of the UEFA Champions League would result in Villas-Boas heading towards a pre-mature departure, like many of his predecessors, but according to the man himself, he is certain he
will be staying at the club for the long-term.
As per Villas-Boas’ reasoning the Russian billionaire had realized the club needed  a manager for the long-term who would provide much needed consistency for seasons to come. The Portuguese boss was certain he would be at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 for the next three years,
since that was how long his project at the club would take.
Villas-Boas said while speaking to reporters:
“You have to understand that this club, from 2004 up to now, has made a dramatic change for the best in terms of their past.
It's the richest part of Chelsea's history, full of trophies and success, and you want to perpetuate that into the future.
To do that, you have to sometimes make changes because you cannot sustain the same habits that you had in 2004, when this environment and team was created to make a winning team.
These words would be more valuable coming from the top. I cannot keep saying them but, as the voice of the club, I will continue to perpetuate this message because this is what we believe in.”
