Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has revealed he believes that lack of patience in the past has led to the current uncertainty surrounding his position at the club.
Before Andre Villas-Boas was appointed manager at Stamford Bridge, under-performing managers were sacked by owner Roman Abramovich. Some were not even given a full season at the club and were relieved off their duties in mid-season.
It is for this reason it is believed that the Portuguese manager will be treated the same way, that is sacked unless the Blues manage an improvement soon. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 have been facing a slump in all competitions and could very well miss out on the UEFA Champions
League spot next season.
The 34-year-old admitted that while his side had not been at their best, he did not think it meant that he would be sacked any time soon. In his opinion a few bad results did not mean the manager had to be sacked as soon as possible to make things better.
Villas-Boas said while speaking to reporters:
“Everything is always related to results.
The problem is that results lead you into doubt so (the question is) are you able to live with that climate of doubt and believe in the person and the project, or do you believe the person is not the right one?”
According to Villas-Boas, the treatment of managers in the past had a lot to do with what was going on right now, which was the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 boss continuously being linked with a move away.
He revealed:
“Maybe in the past there has not been patience. That is cultural at the club. A couple of clubs have undergone this kind of project changes.
Sometimes they are because of results, sometimes they aren't.”
Meanwhile, the disagreement with the senior players at the club remains. Villas-Boas admitted the senior players were unhappy at being left out but that he did not have a problem with anyone of them.
Villas-Boas continued:
“It has been blown out of proportion.
There is a great sense of responsibility towards the employer from the playing staff here.”
