Chelsea manager, Andre Villas-Boas is confident over the fact that his side can catch up with Tottenham Hotspur in the near future.
The Blues took on Swansea last night and after trailing by one goal to nil till the 93rd minute, Jose Bosingwa managed to force the ball into the back of the net, as Chelsea salvaged a point from the game.
However, as a result of this draw, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 are now sitting seven points behind Tottenham who occupy the third spot in the league table.
Despite the massive gap between the two teams, Villas-Boas is confident that his side can catch up with the Spurs and hopefully take over the third spot in the league table.
The Chelsea manager is quoted to have said: "It’s a gap that grows. Two weekends ago it was reduced so it’s the same. We go back to how we were before. A seven-point gap is nothing in the Premier League.”
During the game against Swansea, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ashley-Cole-c6809 went on to receive two yellow cards and was sent off for an early shower. This red card means that the full-back won’t be able to play against Manchester United and this could potentially lead to some problems
for Chelsea.
Villas-Boas went on to reflect on what he thought about the challenge and admitted that the Blues might just contest the referee’s decision and hope for the full-back to be made available for the game against United.
"Well, it is a difficult challenge,"
“I think Ashley goes all in on the challenge because he thinks he can get to the ball."
“Dyer just anticipates on the challenge and, I think, Ashley in the end touched him."
“We will have to see the incident again to see if there is any chance of rescinding the card."
At the moment, Chelsea don’t seem to be the same team they were at the start of the season. The team really needs to get their act together and the players need to feel the hunger that is going to see them perform to the best of their abilities.
It is now a wait to see just where Chelsea finish, once the season comes to an end.
