Tottenham’s new manager has admitted that he failed to work his magic at Chelsea but he feels a sort of belonging to Tottenham due to their identity in English football as they are more inclined to play attacking football rather
than to stay entrenched in cultures of the past like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 did...
Andre Villas Boas has admitted that he did not feel close enough to the culture that was entrenched at Chelsea to work his magic but things are different at Tottenham where the club has a pre-determined identity which is closely
associated to offensive football.
The former Porto manager was appointed as Tottenham’s newest manager after the club parted ways with Harry Redknapp following his failure to guide Spurs into the UEFA Champions League qualification rounds. Even though Tottenham
finished fourth, their qualification spot was given to Chelsea because the Blues emerged as eventual European Champions courtesy of their Champions League final win over Bayern Munich.
Tottenham have a few issues ahead of them in the current transfer window as the likes of Modric are looking to part ways with the North London outfit in search of UEFA Champions League football and with an unproven manager at
the helm, players are confused as to the future direction of the club.
Andre Villas Boas said, "There is more a sense of belonging to a club. This is a club full of tradition, which I am still learning about and have to admire.  Chelsea has its own tradition that has changed dramatically since it
was bought in 2003.”
He added, "I am the one who has arrived, the new one, and I have to get into the flow of the club's expectations for the future and take it in the right direction. I arrive here much more prepared and a much better manager than
I was before.”
The former Chelsea manager went onto elaborate on how Tottenham have always been associated with attacking football in the English Premier League and it is this foundation that he will like to build his team on whilst his time
at the White Hart Lane stadium.
