Andre Villas-Boas reveals Juan Mata could make Chelsea debut after international break
Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas revealed that the new signing from Valencia, Juan Mata could have to wait until the international break to make his debut for the Blues. The 23-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 international signed with Chelsea on a long-term deal from the La

While Mata was expected to feature against Norwich City today, he might have to wait until the international break before he makes his much awaited debut. After a slow start to the new season, Chelsea realized they were in desperate need of a creative player.

However, he has now claimed that he does not feel two training sessions are adequate for any player
to adjust to a new side.
Villas-Boas said while speaking to reporters:
“This league is very, very specific in terms of intensity, emotionally and culturally.
It doesn't mean he's not threatening the starting XI, but two training sessions is short for a player creating new relationships with the players.”
The Portuguese manager revealed that while he was satisfied with the current squad, he felt they lacked depth and width, something Mata promised to provide. Along with Mata, Villas-Boas is currently targeting http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Álvaro-Pereira-c5297 to add to the
team before the end of the transfer window.
Villas-Boas revealed that he was pleased with having signed Mata, even though it had been tough since http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 were not initially willing to sell. However, after various talks the Spanish side agreed to part ways with arguably their best player.
After transferring to Valencia in the 2007-2008 season from Real Madrid B, Mata made a total of 174 appearances in all competitions, scoring 46 goals and providing 45 assists. Villas-Boas expects the same impressive statistics from the former Valencia winger
at the London club.
Villas-Boas said:
“We were looking for a player that gives us some creativity in the final third.
Not that we don't have that, but you always want to add it when you can find talent of this nature.
The price was reasonable for his qualities and what he's shown in the Spanish and Champions League.”
