http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 boss Andre Villas-Boas has admitted in a recent interview that he fears he could face the axe as the Blues manager after a poor form of run by the London side in all competitions.
In the past the Portuguese manager retained he had the support of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, but seems to have changed his mind recently. He is now uncertain of whether or not the Russian billionaire will retain his support over the course of time it
will take to complete his project at Stamford Bridge.
Villas-Boas’ project is to rebuild the club, starting at the foundations and working his way to the top. He has started by bringing in new players and attempting to replace the older ones, an effort that has not gone down too well with the senior players
at the club.
It has led to various arguments in the dressing room and the fact that it has been combined with poor results in fixtures has only made things worse. Chelsea managed their first win in five fixtures against Bolton Wanderers in the English Premier League.
Despite the 3-0 win, this is currently Chelsea’s worst season since Roman Abramovich took over the club in 2003. Now Villas-Boas has been having doubts as to how long he will be allowed to stay at Stamford Bridge, especially if he is unable to deliver favourable
results.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 manager revealed he was aware of the fact that the Blues were in terrible form at the moment, a position they had been in many times in the past and something which always led to the sacking of the manager in charge. He admitted he was
uncertain of the future at Chelsea and the faith Abramovich had in him, if any, to help the Blues make it through the rough patch.
Villas-Boas said in an interview:
“We are now in the exact same moment as last year. It is an exact copy.
The pattern of behaviour of the owner has led to a (manager's) downfall in similar situations or even 'better' situations.
What will be the reaction? It will be one of the two, a continuation of the project and full support or just the cultural pattern that has happened before. We don't know.”
