Andre Ward replies to Carl Froch’s statements against him – Boxing news
The current World Boxing Association Super World Super Middleweight Champion, Andre Ward, has hit back at his opponent Carl Froch, who is not happy with the postponement of his Super Six World Boxing Classic final fight.
The Nottingham’s Cobra, Carl Froch, who is the reigning World Boxing Council Super Middleweight champion, recently stated he never enters the ring 100 percent injury free. Froch also thinks Ward demanded too much time to recover from his injury.
“No fighter gets in the ring 100% injury-free. I'm always injured, there's no need to get the violins out,” Froch said.
Andre Ward and Carl Froch were scheduled to meet in a much-anticipated ‘Winner takes all’ Super Six World Boxing Classic’s final on October 29, 2011 at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. However, their fight has now been shifted to December 17, as Ward
sustained a cut above his right eye during a sparring session which required seven stitches.
Though the 27-year-old Ward in a press conference officially apologised to his opponent and his team for what happened, Froch has given many statements.
Therefore, the undefeated American prospect, Ward, who holds an incredible record of winning all of his 24 professional fights, with 13 of them coming by the way of a knockout, has responded to the statements of his opponent. Ward remarked Froch is doing
a lot of talking and he needs a lesson.
“The guy [Froch] I'm fighting is doing a little bit too much talking,” he said. “He's a very arrogant guy and really needs to be humbled,” Ward told ESPN.com.
Froch carries a record of winning 28 of his 29 professional fights, with 20 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout. However Ward, apart from is undefeated record, is currently rated among the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world.
Thus it is fair to say that a clash between these two pugilists will pull a huge crowd into the arena, as people would definitely want to see if Ward can still protect his unbeaten record or not.
