The President of Juventus has spoken of his support for the currently banned coach of Juventus in his fight to get the ban overturned for the upcoming season.
It has been another tumultuous summer of controversies for the Italian Serie A, after it was rocked by the Scommessopoli controversy in the wake of the European Championships that were held in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Poland-c2983. An Italian player currently plying his trade
for Zenit St Petersburg, Domenico Criscito was called back from the Italian national team for his alleged involvement in match fixing during his time in the Serie A.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Simone-Pepe-c33591, Angelo Alessio and Antonio Conte were alleged to be involved in match fixing activities. Leonardo Bonucci was alleged of sporting fraud and was looking at a sentence of three and a half years for his misdeeds, and Simone Pepe
was looking at a year’s ban. However, the two players were acquitted as the allegations were deemed to be unreliable.
However, Antonio Conte and Angelo Alessio were not as lucky, as they were handed bans of ten months and eight months respectively. Conte and Alessio have pleaded their innocence in the matter and the management of Juventus has gone so far to indicate that
the two are being wrongfully framed.
Juve have given their backing to the personnel who have been dragged into the case and said that they would be fighting against the allegations mounted against them and have stated that they would be going to the highest courts in order to take the case
up to the tribunal at CONI.
Agnelli went on to state that anyone of the opinion that Juventus would stumble in this is sadly mistaken and remarked:
“As we have confirmed, Antonio Conte is and will continue to be the Juventus Coach. After deservedly winning the Italian Super Cup, bringing up new envy and old ‘anti-Juve’ militants, the team is united in taking on Serie A, the Champions League and Coppa
Italia. Anyone who thinks the sporting justice events of the summer will affect our season has badly miscalculated the situation.”
The appeal of Conte to overturn the ban has been rejected by the sporting authorities and the next resort of Juve is to appeal to the TNAS tribunal.
