Andrea Dato ends the event at the fourth spot – WPT Venice 2011
A surprise result was witnessed on the final day of the WPT (World Poker Tour) Venice event, as one of the least experienced contestants, Edoardo Alescio, claimed the glorious championship title on Sunday night. Alescio beat all
the odds to outplay some of the most experienced professional poker players in the tournament to bag $255,842 on Day 5 at the Casino Di Venezia in Venice.
Leader of the board on combined Day 1, Andrea Dato, was among the five contestants competing for the title on the final table on Sunday night. Playing a final table for the first time, Dato was eliminated at the fourth spot, taking
home $56,822 prize money with him. It was one of the hot favourites, Steve O’Dwyer and the eventual champion Alescio who went on head-to-head at the final table. The two aggressive competitors went on to display their amazing poker skills to deliver an enthralling

Andrea Dato busted at the hand of Steve O’Dwyer at the fourth spot
With Andrea Benelli eliminated first up, Andrea Dato kept playing with his aggressive style. In his last hand played at the tournament, Dato went all-in with his 249,000 chips while sitting on the raiser button. A king of diamonds
and a nine of spades were all under his sleeves and his opponent, O’Dwyer called the bet, holding an ace of diamonds and four of hearts in his hand.
The community cards were revealed from the dealer, showing a queen of hearts, ten of clubs, seven of clubs, five of hearts and two of diamonds. Both the players failed to make a pair in the hand but O’Dwyer’s ace of diamonds prevailed
over Dato’s cards to eliminate him from the final table of the WPT Venice.
