Andrea Dovizioso, Cal Crutchlow satisfied with progress at Brno Grand Prix – MotoGP news
Andrea Dovizioso of Monster Yamaha Tech3 says that he is satisfied with their performance after the first day of practice sessions prior to the Czech Republic Grand Prix.
Cal Crutchlow, teammate of Dovizioso says that he is certain that they can further improve their performance over the weekend.
Dovizioso said that he is satisfied with the work they have done on the first day of Brno Grand Prix during the first two practice sessions. He added that they arrived there in great shape after the podium they acquired in Indianapolis Grand Prix.
Furthermore, he said that he was very comfortable with the bike and was very close to front. He added that he was less than 0.2 seconds behind Dani Pedrosa of Repsol Honda, who was the leader in both practice sessions.
The Italian rider said, “Obviously we arrive here in great shape after the fantastic podium in Indianapolis and immediately I was comfortable with the bike and the big positive is in both sessions I was very close to the front. I was only 0.186s behind Dani
this morning and 0.197s behind him this afternoon and it is great to start the weekend being so competitive.”
Crutchlow said it was not a bad start for him because his fastest laps of both practice sessions ranked at the fourth position, very close to his teammate at third position. He added that he is sure that they can improve their performance over the weekend
and will eventually be able to attain a decent grid position for the Czech Republic GP scheduled this Sunday.
Furthermore, he said that he struggled with the hard tyre and they need to look at the technical data closely to identify the reasons. He added that his pace with soft tyres is better but he did not try them until the end of the practice session 2.
Crutchlow said, “I've got good pace on the soft tyre and I'm convinced I can be a bit quicker because I didn't put in a soft tyre until right at the end of this afternoon's session.”
Let us see how Dovizioso and Crutchlow perform during the race.
