Andrea Dovizioso of Repsol Honda team fully prepared to race at Brno – MotoGP news
Repsol Honda rider Andrea Dovizioso is fully charged to race at the 11th MotoGP event, Cardion AB Grand Prix at Brno, Czech Republic on August 14, 2011.
After spending a good first half of the season, the Italian rider spent the summer break with his family. However, he continued his training to stay in form for the next half of the season.
Dovizioso said, “It was a new experience for me that I really enjoyed. It was a perfect time to relax and switch off and now I’m ready for the second part of the season. We arrive in Brno very motivated as we want to redeem the disappointing result of Laguna.”
The Italian rider has not tasted success yet, but occasionally has been collecting podiums this season, many of which were accompanied by his teammate Casey Stoner.
His good performance has earned him a third place in the world championship points table. His further aim is to challenge Lorenzo for the second place on points table.
He added, “Brno is a fast track, the curves have a long range so the speed in the mid corner is high. I’m confident that we can be competitive there, the Honda machine is working very well and the characteristics of the track suit my riding style too. It’s
similar to Mugello and we look for a good result.”
In his opinion, Casey Stoner, Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo will be playing as hard competitors. The trio of the top three riders has been fighting for wins.
Dovizioso and his team are focused to retain their position on the podium as they have been doing earlier. However, with the return of Pedrosa it is getting a little tough.
After the raceday, while his teammates will be testing their 2012 bike at Brno, Dovizioso will be looking to complete his last season with the Honda factory team. His neat and steady performance has secured his place in the LCR Honda team.
Let’s see where Dovizioso stands for 2012 MotoGP season as the ongoing season progresses ahead.
