Andrea Dovizioso remains satisfied after the first day of practice at Motegi – MotoGP news
Andrea Dovizioso of Monster Yamaha Tech3 remains satisfied with his bike after the first day of practice at Motegi circuit.
He made it to the 3rd position in both practice sessions yet he believes he can further improve his bike. His teammate, Cal Crutchlow, is unsatisfied with his bike as he was unable to find a comfortable setting.
Dovizioso told that he is satisfied with his performance at the first practice of Japanese GP. He used the hard compound tyres in the practice and expects that he will be choosing same compounds for the race as well. He told that he will be pushing as hard
as possible even if he is not fully comfortable with his bike.
He said, “The good thing is I am very competitive already but I know we can improve on the last part of the entry to the corner. I don't feel comfortable in that area, but even if I don't feel 100% confident with the bike and ready to push as hard as I know
I can.”
Dovizioso believes he can follow Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo, top two contenders in championship, during the race whereas his teammate, Crutchlow, is not satisfied with their performance at the Japanese circuit because they were unable to achieve their
desired settings despite trying a lot. He believes that he is way behind his teammate even though they are using the same bike therefore he anticipates working very hard to race competitively.
The Monster Yamaha Tech3 rider told that the he might be racing with the hard compound tyres therefore he will be trying to achieve comfortable settings with the hard slicks.
In addition, he told that he is facing issues in several other areas as well and he will have to discuss those issues with his crew so they may be able to achieve desirable setting with his bike.
Crutchlow said, “I am way down on the timesheets and a long way behind Andrea and we are both on the same bike and the same tyres, so it is clear that we have a lot of work to do to improve tomorrow.”
Let’s see how the two riders perform on the race day.
