Andrea Dovizioso says he is excited to be a part of Ducati for next 2013 season – MotoGP news
Andrea Dovizioso has expressed his gladness at becoming a part of Ducati for the next 2013 MotoGP season.
He said that he and Ducati signed a contract, the last day, and it was a significant decision for him. He added that Gabriele Del Torchio, CEO of Ducati, and Filippo Preziosi, Ducati Corse General and Technical Director, explained the project to him.
Besides, he said that Torchio and Preziosi told him about the upcoming role of Audi. He added that it seems that there are many things which will support impressive results.
Dovizioso said, “Yesterday we signed and it was a big decision. I’m so happy and so excited to be part of the project with Ducati and Audi. I spoke with Del Torchio and Preziosi and they explained the project to me as well as Audi coming in, so it looks
like there are many things to get a result.”
Furthermore, he said that the current situation of Ducati is known by everyone and he is confident that he and Ducati together would be able to generate impressive results.
“Everybody knows Ducati’s situation, and I’m confident about us working together to get a result. I can’t say any more as nobody can say how the bike is and how Ducati is if you don’t try,” he said.
He added that it would be too early to comment on the bike because he has not tried it.
Dovizioso is currently riding for Monster Yamaha tech 3. He started his MotoGP career in 2008 with Qatar Grand Prix and in that year, he was able to make it to the podium in the Malaysian Grand Prix. Since then he has shown consistent improvements over the
circuit.
In the current 2012 season, he was not able to make it among the top ten contenders in the British GP and finished the race at 19th place, except that race he has always made it among the top ten contenders and to the podium for five times in the current
season.
A lot depends on Dovizioso because some riders believe that the problem lies with Ducati. It would be interesting whether he will be able to change this opinion or not.
