The former AC Milan playmaker has conceded persuading http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alessandro-Nesta-c4735 to join him at the Juventus Arena by the start of the next season.
Pirlo has been in scintillating form for the Bianconeri, and has been the best player of Juventus this season. He has been instrumental in the league and Coppa Italia for
Antonio Conte, pulling the strings in the midfield to great effect.
The Bianconeri playmaker arrived from AC Milan in the summer of 2011. When he was at Milan, he spent many illustrious seasons with Alessandro Nesta as his team mate, and
both were mainstays in the Milanello line up. Pirlo has not hidden his desire that he wants his former colleague to follow suit and come to the Old Lady.
Nesta’s contract expires by the end of this summer, and there have been no suggestions of a contract extension of the 36-year-old at the San Siro. He has been touted for
a switch to the Turin side.
When quizzed over the possibility of Pirlo persuading Nesta to join him in the Bianconeri colours, Pirlo replied:
“Yes, I’ve discussed such an option with
Nesta, but these are personal things. He plays for a great team and he is free to choose what decision to make. We’ll see what happens at the end of the season.”
Conte’s men recently leapfrogged AC Milan into the first position of the Serie A, and hold a slender lead of a single point after 31 matches into the league.
Pirlo has been hailed by many as the signing of the season, after the Milanello felt the player was past his prime. Despite being at the summit of the League, the former
San Siro free kick specialist stated that there is still much hard work to be done till the end of the season. He further mentioned:
“We’re now top again, but we have to take things one game at a time. We’re not
favourites, it’s 50-50. We didn’t expect Milan to lose to Fiorentina, but now we have to concentrate on our next game which is against

Juventus have their week 32 tie against Lazio, and need a victory to harbour any dreams of extending the lead at the top.
