The former AC Milan midfielder has shared his thoughts on the aspirations of Juventus to start competing at the toughest European club competition on regular basis.
The name of Juventus resounded through Europe and struck fear into the biggest of clubs. They were always considered to be one of the favourites to lift the Champions League every time they featured.
Their stadium until 2006, Stadio delle Alpi was considered the fortress of Juventus where an away victory was a rare possibility.
However, all their Champions League and domestic terror collapsed after the Calciopoli scandal led to the demotion of the Turin giants to the second tier of Italian football, the Serie B. The Bianconeri were
demoted in May 2006, and have always claimed innocence and felt hard done by the decision of the Calcio authorities.
The Turin giants lost many of their high profile players due to the demotion, however, some old veterans stuck by to help Juve bounce straight back up. They achieved this feat in the 2007. Since then, Juventus
have been rebuilding to achieve the heights they had once soared to.
Pirlo’s arrival at the club has helped the Bianconeri to a great season, with the veteran midfielder putting in stellar performances for the Old Lady. He remarked on the club’s hunger by stating:
“We want the Champions League. I’ve won the European Cup twice as a player and today we are working on seeing certain stadiums live again.”

“There was a spontaneous connection between the fans and myself. Joining Juve was a new challenge for me to win, to start again from zero just as Juventus have done.”
The playmaker was later asked about his opinion on the Old Lady Coach, Antonio Conte, and he praised his manager by remarking:
“He has clear ideas, he’s always looking to implement his vision of the game and it seems like he is succeeding. We are all following him closely because we are convinced that we are on the right path to
obtain results.”
Juventus are active in the Scudetto race and will most definitely feature in next year’s edition of the Champions League.
