The Dutch hails the Bianconeri for winning the league with attacking and entertaining football; insists the Scudetto is the right reward for the Old Lady’s persistent efforts.
Dutch legend Johan Cruyff has extolled Juventus for the way they went about playing their game on road to the Serie A title.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 man previously slammed the Italian football for being too defensive in their approach to the game, but hailed the Bianconeri for choosing a much more attacking method, and inspiring everyone else on their way
to the league supremacy.
The Catalan national team manager insisted that Juventus always took the game to the opposition, and entertained the fans throughout the season. The Dutch national stated that while winning remains the foremost focus for any side,
exhibiting a good show for football enthusiasts is also important.
The veteran coach stated that it took a laborious and glorious journey for the Old Lady to return to the top of Serie A, after being dumped to Serie B, and insisted that Scudetto is a befitting reward for their persistent efforts.
While talking to the press at a golf event in Turin, the 65 year-old said:
“Juve play some good football. They are attacking and entertaining. Winning is not the only thing that counts, playing well does too. They’ve come a long way since 2006 [Serie B demotion] and this victory is the right reward for
their efforts.”
Cruyff went on to praise the role of Andrea Pirlo and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alessandro-Del-Piero-c4726 in Juventus’ triumphant league run. The Dutchman stated that Pirlo is a magician with the ball, and insisted that a player with such profound ball-control
can play for a top team like Barcelona on any given day.
The former Ajax manager went on to state that Del Piero and Gigi Buffon have a deep connection with the Bianconeri, and it is hard to fathom what they mean to the club. The veteran added that the two players went with the team
to Serie B in order to bring them back to the top, and the great feat will always be remembered by the club for years to come.
“Pirlo is a great, the ball does what he wants, and he could also play for Barcelona. Del Piero, like Gigi Buffon, has Juventus in him. He went down to Serie B with them and then returned. It’s hard to explain what he represents
for the club.”
Del Piero will leave the Turin giants at the end of the season, as Juventus have refused to extend his contract with the club.
