The former AC Milan regista was ecstatic upon hearing that Prandelli had agreed to continue working for La Nazionale, and gave his support to Prandelli’s ideology.
The Juventus midfielder was the star of the Italian team throughout the European tournament, and was at the heart of their attacks.
Andrea Pirlo continued his impressive club form to the international stage by putting in one stellar performance after the other. One of the biggest midfield battles of the European tournament was touted to be that of Pirlo-Gerrard,

He was influential, charismatic and his confidence was contagious, as shown by his panenka against the English in the quarter-finals of the tournament. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan player felt that Prandelli had reservations regarding
his future with the national side after hearing his conferences.
Pirlo felt it would have been a pity to see the former Venezia manager departing the Azzurri camp following his achievements during the recently ended European championship. He went on to state that everyone had knowledge of what
Prandelli was hoping to achieve with the national side, and remarked:
“But we all knew that he wanted to create a new squad, with a new brand of football, and it would have been horrible to leave after reaching an unexpected Final. Now we are even more sure that we can do well with him.”
The midfielder was talking to Sky Sport Italian and during his interview he conceded that the manner in which they lost the final was disheartening but they gave their all in the final as well. He felt that they were still tired
from their game against the Germans, and playing against Spain was always difficult.
The former Rossoneri star went on to comment that they had played great football right through the tournament, but it was not to be; he was quoted to have said:

His outstanding performances for club and country have ignited claims that he deserves to win the Ballon d’Or.
