Andrea Ranocchia: Derby della Madonnina will decide the title between AC Milan and Inter Milan
Inter Milan defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andrea-Ranocchia-c5708 believes that the race for the Serie A title is still not over and the Milan derby will decide it. The defender said that next month’s fixture is a very crucial one and termed it as the title
decider. AC Milan are at the top of the table with 61 points whereas Inter are five points behind with a further 10 more matches to be played in the league.
Inter have seen a revival since appointing Leonardo as the head-coach after a struggling start to the season under former manager Rafa Benitez. The former Milan manager has been brilliant since arriving in December last year and
has brought the Champions back in to the race of the Scudetto.
Ranocchia said that Inter will not give up on the title and his side has showed the quality many times already this season. The Italian said that Milan will be under some amount of pressure when they play Bari next week as Inter
are right behind their back. He added that the Nerazzurri will be waiting to grasp to any opportunity from their rivals and capitalize on the good form they have been in.
The 23-year old said that both sides are going neck to neck right now with some very good results recently and the derby has to be the deciding clash between the two titans.
"We are not going to give up. We have demonstrated this on many occasions. Both sides are having great results, and we are responding to them blow by blow. Everything will be played for in the Derby,’ said the defender in an interview.
Ranocchia was also all praise for his side’s determined performance against Genoa at San Siro on Sunday. The former Genoa defender said that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 came back strongly in the second half and showed their quality after being 1-0 down
at half-time. He said that the team changed tactics after the interval and it payed back big time as the match ended 5-2 in favour of the hosts.
"After a horrible first half on our behalf, we changed approach both physically and mentally. All we had to do is look each other in the eye during the break, saying that we could not continue to play in the way we were," he added.
Inter Milan currently sit second on the Serie A table with 56 points and are five points adrift from their city rivals. The Scudetto race is still not over as both sides still have ten matches to play and the Derby della Madonnina
could well be the decider.
Inter defeated Genoa 5-2 whereas Milan won a crucial game in Turin against Juventus over the weekend.
