The Beneamata chief tips the new boss as a long-term candidate; blames Gian Piero Gasperini for the poor start and feels sorry for Claudio Ranieri.
Inter Milan President, Massimo Moratti, has backed the new Nerazzurri manager, Andrea Stramaccioni, for success at San Siro.
Stramaccioni has been promoted from the youth setup, and was appointed as the caretaker manager for the remainder of the season. He replaced Claudio Ranieri as the Beneamata head-coach after the latter was fired from his post recently.
The new manager guided the Inter Milan http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Junior-c20060 team to Youth Champions League triumph recently, and has won a lot of praise from all corners. With only nine matches left to play in the season, the young tactician has a perfect chance to impress the bosses at San Siro with his skills.
Massimo Moratti has revealed that the 36-year-old is a long-term candidate for the club, and he could stay on as the manager of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 after the current campaign. The Nerazzurri chief has hailed the talent of the tactician, and is predicting a bright future for him at San Siro.
While talking to the reporters, Moratti said:
“Clearly Stramaccioni has talent and proved it again today in his presentation press conference. This opens the doors straight away to new projects. You realise that he has this talent, not just in expressing himself, but also in what he has expressed through football. I have to say he is an option for the future. If he does well, why not have him?”
Stramaccioni has become the third manager for the club this season after Gian Piero Gasperini and Claudio Ranieri. The Biscione have had a terrible season, and are languishing in the 8th spot in the points table.
Moratti has blamed Gasperini for Inter’s poor performance in the ongoing campaign, but has shown respect for Ranieri.
“He is certainly part of Inter for the moment and is therefore prepared to collaborate. He is a good man and a great Coach in my view. As for Gasperini, let’s just say we started off the season so badly that it was difficult to get back on track.”
Stramaccioni’s first test in the Nerazzurri colours will be in a home game against Genoa on Sunday, April 1st.
