The Inter Milan head coach has stated his opinion that the Viola were a tad bit unlucky not to have taken more from the match, while stating http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567’s ambitions.
The young manager is in his 4th match of his Serie A coaching career, and has ridden his share of the luck in the initial matches he has played in. Before the
match against the Viola, Stramaccioni had won two of the three matches under his tenure and was aiming to keep continue the unbeaten run he has had.
The Nerazzurri were lucky not to go behind after Fiorentina were given a penalty, and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Julio-c19950 Cesar’s hands with his attempt. Stramaccioni was
of the opinion that off-the-ball movement by the Viola players was exceptional and they were a tough side to face, after Palermo and Milan also found them tough to beat. He further stated:
“We have to give credit to
Fiorentina, as they put in a strong performance, especially in their movement without the ball. It wasn’t easy to play against this
Fiorentina side, as Milan and Palermo also struggled recently.”
The former Inter Primavera boss fielded a very attack minded side, with a 4-2-4 formation which saw the likes of Ricky Alvarez, Mauro Zarate, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-Milito-c11166
in attack. He was full of praise for his attackers and went on to comment:
“Our idea was to push forward, seeing as
Fiorentina had five defenders and three midfielders. I used quality players for the one-on-one and thought
Zarate, Alvarez and also http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Maicon-c23157 did well when Fiorentina allowed some space.”
Diego Forlan has come under a lot of stick by fans and former players for his performances with the Beneamata in his first season with the club. However, Stramaccioni was
of the opinion that although Forlan could have played better, he had no worries in his selection and stated that others could have played better too. He also remarked that adapting to new footballing methodologies took some time and Forlan would adjust to
this format in due time.
There are five more games remaining in the Lega and it would remain to be seen whether Stramaccioni can guide his side to Champions League football for the next season.
