The Nerazzurri manager has stated that Serie A is a world different from primavera, and believes that the support from the President is big advantage that his predecessors did not have.
Andrea Stramaccioni has admitted that he has the protection of Massimo Moratti behind him, as he prepares to lead http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan into Europa League preliminary round.
The Nerazzurri tactician was promoted from the club’s successful primavera team to the senior side, to replace sacked Claudio Ranieri after a dismal run in the league.
While the young manager was given the caretaker role in the beginning, he has impressed enough to earn a permanent contract at the helm of the senior team.
Stramaccioni admitted that leading a side like Inter Milan is a difficult task, and stressed that he is learning the ropes with the passage of time at the Italian giants.
The Nerazzurri tactician was adamant that there is a world of difference between managing in the Primavera and coaching a club in Italian top flight, but maintained that he is up to the challenge.
The Beneamata boss went on to thank Moratti for his support that he has extended to him so far, and acknowledged the fact that the President’s backing is a luxury that was not available to the managers before him.
While talking to Il Giornale newspaper, the 36-year-old said:
“I am still trying to understand the situation and am learning something, but it’s difficult to explain what it’s like to be in charge of a side like Inter. The step up from Primavera to senior squad is a chasm. It’s a whole other world, but it is nice to feel protected by President Moratti and I realise this is an advantage not many have had in the past.”
Stramaccioni has been nicknamed the Andre Villas-Boas of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926, as he had never managed a Serie A side before being handed over the reins at Inter Milan, just like the Portuguese tactician.
His side will have an early start to their season, as they will face Croatian club Hajduk Split on Thursday in the first-leg of the Europa League preliminary round.
