Stramaccioni added that the team was in dire need of victory, and the players have done him proud by stepping up to the occasion.

“It was a wonderful game, emotional, exciting, played openly by both teams who wanted to win. We played quality football this evening with character and hunger for success. We had lost our way a little after that one-two from Milan,
who went from 1-0 down to 2-1 up. It was important for us to win and we did so in a spectacular encounter.”
The young tactician revealed that bitterness arose in the team after AC Milan was awarded the controversial penalty, and he had to work on the players to bring their focus back onto the game. The 36-year-old added that the team’s
